What with the summer sun making a more reliable appearance, you will probably want to spend more time in your garden entertaining family and friends. However, you might feel that, after the harsh rainy and windy winter conditions, your garden needs a bit of an update for summer. If you’re lacking inspiration about where to start, here are some ideas!
Update your garden furniture
Often, simply replacing your weather worn garden furniture (or even just giving your old set a new lick of paint) can make the world of difference to the overall appearance of your garden. If you’re looking to refresh your existing garden furniture, why not use some wood stain or preserver. Or just update your accessories
Nothing quite says summer like adding a pop of colour to your garden. You can do this with different accessories, candles and art to give your garden just the lift it needs for summer, without spending very much at all! You could choose for the colours of these to either compliment or tastefully clash with the colour scheme elsewhere in your garden. Why not pick out the colour of your favourite flower and highlight it using new seat cushions and a table cloth? Or clash with a variety of different candles as a centrepiece to your garden table, and if you choose citronella candles, you’ll keep the bugs away, too!
Heat it up!
You might be surprised at the difference a patio heater could make to your garden! Fire burners are also a great addition to any garden and adds such as cosy feel to your outside space! You will find yourself enjoying the garden further into the evening, as you won’t go inside to avoid the chill!
Give the children something to do
Including something in your garden for your children to do will not only give it more of a family feel, but will also mean that they are kept entertained while you relax in the summer sun. If your children are energetic and adventurous, they might like a playhouse with a swing or climbing wall. For younger children, a sandpit is a great way to keep them entertained in a more enclosed space.
